Your assessment for hyperhidrosis is covered by OHIP. The Botox™ medication is typically covered by most private drug plans. An additional injection fee is charged to the patient for performing the procedure. It is so effective, many patients without drug plans still choose to have treatments with Botox™. After your initial consultation, when all your questions have been answered and you are comfortable with the treatment plan, your informed consent will be obtained.
Most find the treatment to be very tolerable with very occasional discomfort. If it is more uncomfortable for you, you may request the pre-application of our aspireMD comfort cream.
- You may return to your normal activities after your 20 minute appointment.
- Occasionally, injection sites remain slightly swollen, red, tender or bruised; however this clears within minutes to days.
- Results are noticeable in the treated area within one week, with the effect lasting seven months on average. Sweat will continue to be produced as usual elsewhere in your body.
